Dennis Barnett

CEO / Board Chair

CEO and Chairman of the Topical BioMedics board Dennis Barnett is President of “Propinquity Associates” Business and Management. Propinquity Associates specializes in Knowledge Management and People Development. Before forming Propinquity Associates, Dennis Barnett worked for Champion International Corporation as a Director of Technology and Knowledge Transfer. Dennis served as a Vice President for the New York City Transit Authority managing their Quality, Testing and Inspection Functions. He also directed and managed laboratories for Champion International Corporation, The New York City Transit Authority and PepsiCo Incorporated. He began his technical work experience with the Union Carbide Corporation working in Analytical and Inorganic Chemistry.

Dennis holds a Master of Science Degree from Fordham University in Analytical and Inorganic Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Herbert H. Lehman College in Chemistry. He formerly served as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Marine Corps.

Dennis was an Adjunct Professor at New York University and currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Clarkson University while also teaching undergraduate courses at Marist College and the Culinary Institute of America. Dennis has served as the Interim Associate Dean for Business Management at the Culinary Institute.

Steven J. Spiegel

CEO Emeritus / Board Member / Chair Long Range Planning Committee

Steven J. Spiegel has been a pivotal figure at Topical BioMedics, Inc. for over two decades. As legal counsel, he began restructuring the company in 1998 and oversaw the creation of the brand Topricin®. He served as a director and was responsible for the reconstitution of the board with independent directors in 2018. He became CEO in 2019, and charted new directions building upon Topricin's legacy of safety and efficacy, and expanding its in-store and online market share. Now CEO Emeritus, Steve continues to serve on the Board, contributing his experience and insights as the company explores new opportunities and strategic partners.

Beyond his role at Topical BioMedics, Steve is a seasoned lawyer, advisor, executive, and investor in wellness-related enterprises, and he supports the homeopathic industry on key committee assignments collaborating with homeopathic brands, manufacturers, practitioners, and consumer activists. He is also the author of several books and articles including the critically acclaimed book The Heart of Wellness: A Short History of a New Age. Apple Computer has highlighted his innovative approach by profiling him as a "creative lawyer who has taken 'Think Different' to a whole new level." He is an alumni of the law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, which profiled him as a "true renaissance man" as a "legal practitioner, serial entrepreneur, environmental activist, author, and musician."

Steve earned his undergraduate degree from Brown University, where he received the award for best honors history thesis, and he earned his legal degree from Columbia University School of Law, where he was named a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar each academic year.

David Rosenthal

For almost 43 years Director David Rosenthal is Partner of Counsel for BlumShapiro, a leading accounting firm located in Hartford CT. David provides accounting and auditing services to clients in the manufacturing and wholesale/distribution, management consulting, financial services, legal and medical industries. David serves in an advisory role on many of the firm’s engagements, with a special emphasis on strategic succession planning. David has served a term as the North American Chair of Baker Tilly International, a worldwide alliance of regional accounting firms. David holds a BS in accounting from NYU.

Joe Mazzarella

Joseph Mazzarella, Director and Chair of the Topical BioMedics Legal Committee, is currently a partner at McCarter & English. Joe brings his diverse in-house experience to clients in corporate, finance, licensing, and government relations matters.

Joe has more than 30 years of senior legal and business technology leadership experience. He has served in a variety of operational and legal leadership roles, including as general counsel to several telecommunications, networking, and software companies, and president and chief operating officer of a leading technology company in the public safety, defense, and communications space.

A cutting-edge tech industry leader, Joe holds more than 30 US patents in numerous emerging areas, including no-code/low-code platforms, clean energy networks, interoperable multimedia communications, biosensor networks, AI, blockchain, drones, and wearable computing.

Joe regularly speaks on emerging AI regulatory issues. He also has been directly involved in structuring complex debt and equity financing, IP licensing, international joint ventures, M&A, supplier, and channel distribution and manufacturing agreements. He is experienced in government relations in both policy and appropriations at the federal and state level, as well as federal contracting, export controls, FCPA, and other regulatory compliance matters.

In addition, Joe has managed commercial litigation and continues to serve in a variety of board director and business advisor positions in the consumer products, biotech, interactive gaming, and performing arts sectors.

John Stanton

Board Member / Secretary

Full Bio

Director John Stanton is a Pharmacist who began studies at Albany College of Pharmacy (Union University), and graduated in June 1969. In 1975 John became a partner in Northern Dutchess Pharmacy, and helped build the business into a leading regional pharmacy.

John has served as a Board member for Gemini Technology as well as Widescope Resources. In 1995 John became involved with Topical Biomedics Inc, and has been a company director for over 20 years. During his tenure, John has seen the company grow from distribution in just a few doors to carriage in over 40,000 doors across the country.

From 2001 to 2015 John worked for WalMart as a Pharmacy Manager. Recognizing his ability to turn troubled pharmacies into productive business units, John became a turn around specialist managing several pharmacies in the Sarasota Florida area. In addition to training candidates to become Pharmacy Managers, John oversaw the Intern Program for future pharmacists.

In 2009 John was presented with Pharmacy Manager of the Year Award.

Andy Kadison

Chief Creative Officer / Chief Content Officer

 

Andy is the Chief Creative Officer / Chief Content Officer of Topical BioMedics. Prior to holding this position, Andy served as the COO of Topical BioMedics. In his current role, Andy helps to oversee day-to-day company operations, marketing, and creative. He works closely with Topricin employees to insure the growth of each team member, with a primary responsibility for creative, consumer engagement, and revenue generation.

Andy is a former Executive Vice President at Sony Music, and a former senior executive at Viacom with an extensive background in creative, operations, marketing, and brand development. He has led complex management teams with a focus on I.P. development, operations, sales, production, and global reach & engagement.

Jonathan Heath

Vice President of Operations & Distribution

Jonathan is Vice President of Operations and Distribution for Topical BioMedics. In his role, Jonathan oversees shipping & receiving, inventory management, contract manufacturing, customer service, distribution management, and helps oversee the day-to-day operations of the company. Jonathan has been an asset to Topical BioMedics for 8 years, building his skills, knowledge of space, and overall career through numerous roles within the company. Jonathan also helps manage digital sales and direct-to-consumer sales with numerous touch points involved to help insure consumer engagement and overall customer satisfaction. Prior to joining Topical BioMedics, Jonathan enjoyed numerous roles, growing his myriad experiences into a dynamic set of responsibilities which has helped shape the executive he is today.
